Tourguide:
"One of the great things about going to a small school like St. Margaret's is that if you're interested in a sport, you'll get to play. The gym hosts volleyball and basketball games. We also have a dance studio, a field across the street, three tennis courts, and an outdoor pool."
SMS Facts:
Built in 1966, the Ball Memorial Gymnasium also provides a stage for music and drama productions and the annual Junior Variety Show, a popular school tradition.
Dance is offered as an afternoon activity. Students can take ballet, jazz or modern dance in the dance studio located on the bottom floor of the gym.
St. Margaret's is a member of Virginia's League of Independent Schools. Competitive teams are fielded in 9 sports: basketball, crew, cross-country, field hockey, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, and volleyball. Students also may choose to exercise at a local fitness center that offers a special arrangement to the school. About two-thirds of the student body play a sport during the year.
