Tourguide:
"The Woolfolk Center is our campus hub. Upstairs are two library floors, classrooms, and the reading room, where you'll have day study hall and schoolwide 'Town Meetings.' Downstairs, the faculty/student center is the place to be during break, after school, and on the weekend. If you're a day student, you'll have your locker here. No matter what classes you take, though, you'll want to be able to find Mrs. Farmer's office on the second floor. She's our Director of Studies, and helps us choose classes an
d set academic goals."
SMS Facts:
SMS students have the latest research tools at their fingertips in the library, which is staffed by a full-time librarian and offers an online catalog, a variety of reference databases, and Internet access, as well as more than 10,000 books and periodicals. SMS prepares students for college success. Every new eighth-, ninth-, and tenth-grader is required to take a study skills class that helps students understand their learning style and adopt appropriate strategies for managing time, mastering material, and performing on tests.
Built in 1991, the Woolfolk Center also houses the Velletri Faculty/Student Center. There's a wide-screen TV, phones, mailboxes, game tables, snack machines, and a comfortable seating area. The faculty/student center is the generous gift of Stan and Sue Muirhead to honor their daughter, Susan '93, and her advisor, history teacher Louise Velletri.
