What is the Annual Fund?

Our Annual Fund supports 6% of our operating budget and therefore makes a significant impact in all areas of school life, most notably in the areas of academic and athletic programs, scholarships, faculty professional development, and physical plant. Your contribution ensures that St. Margaret's evolves with each day into an even better place for our girls to live and learn. Annual Fund campaigns help make up the difference between what tuition covers and the actual cost of a school’s operations.

Who gives to the Annual Fund?

You do, along with many others! Anyone who appreciates the value of a St. Margaret's school education, and wants to support the schools mission, can have a big impact by contributing to the Annual Fund.

Alumnae participation in the Annual Fund reached 22% last year.

Current parent participation reached 58% last year.

Many companies support St. Margaret's through matching gift programs that double, and in some cases triple, the impact of individual contributions to the SMS Annual Fund.

The Annual Fund helps to support the operating expenses of St. Margaret's school.

The answer is yes! Last year 100% of faculy and staff participated in the annual fund.

The Parent Council, through its many activities, raises money for campus projects that are NOT funded through the operating budget. Recent examples include the Bike program, assistance for the performing arts program, and renovations for the Student Faculty Center.

Yes! Pledge payments aren't due until June 30, 2008. But we need to secure pledges now, as they represent money that we count on to fund operations in this year’s budget. Pledges may be paid by check, MasterCard, VISA, through gifts of stock or in cash. Payments can be made in person, through the mail or online through our website at www.sms.org.

All donations, regardless of size, are recognized in the School's Annual Report, unless the donor wishes to remain anonymous. However, the Giving Societies section of the Annual Report acknowledges the donor by the donation amount.
