St. Margaret's has strong leadership, a balanced budget and full enrollment. The five-year strategic plan adopted in 2006 is designed to solidify St. Margaret's position as one of the country's best small schools for girls. A group of more than 50 people developed the plan, including board members, key administrators and representatives of alumnae, parents, faculty and staff. They established goals for essential facets of the school's operations and suggested steps for reaching them.PRIORITIES Finalize plans for the development of the property on Sycamore Drive, plan for and implement a campaign for the athletic program, and develop the property. Structure and implement a comprehensive and integrated development plan to include specific goals in the following areas: • Annual fund • Endowment funds and planned gifts • Capital campaign(s) • Identification and involvement of external partnerships • Advancement communications to each constituency Grow the endowment by a minimum of $3 million in new money by 2011 to support initiatives such as compensation increases, financial aid, facilities maintenance, and professional development. Examine the total SMS compensation program from a life stages perspective. (salaries, benefits, housing, professional development, and sabbatical) in order to provide an appealing package for recruiting and retaining employees. Ensure a program which optimizes the interdisciplinary, athletic, and recreational use of the river by developing a Master River Plan. Develop, fund, and implement a comprehensive marketing plan, differentiating to each constituency as needed. |
