ST. MARGARET'S SCHOOL'S LOCATION

At St. Margaret's many of your classrooms, and maybe even your dorm room, overlook a beautiful, mile-wide river. Most of the campus' nine acres faces the water and SMS uses the Rappahannock as a living laboratory for many of your courses, too, thanks to the River Program. We invite you to take a Virtual Tour of our campus.

You can't talk about Tappahannock without mentioning the natural resources nearby. We're located on the edge of Chesapeake Bay country, 40 miles north of the bay's mouth, and enjoy its splendors year-round. Whether you're watching the marshes wake up on a winter day or American Bald Eagles soar overhead, or feasting on world-famous Chesapeake Bay blue crabs, there's no denying St. Margaret's is situated in one of the country's most beautiful spots.

And there's more. Tappahannock an historic town, packed with antique stores, historic sites and interesting people. While rural, Tappahannock is conveniently located two hours from Washington, DC, two and a half hours from Baltimore. and an hour from Richmond. Our students often take trips to these cities, enjoying their diverse cultural resources.
