CAMPUS FACILITIES

Aesthetic beauty and comfort abound at St. Margaret's. From our stately historic buildings to the most recent renovations of our largest dormitory, St. Margaret's is an inspiring place to learn and grow.

Dormitories
Students reside in air-conditioned dormitories that are networked with Intranet and Internet access. The largest Latané Hall, was renovated in 2002 to include refurbished public spaces, as well as a pottery studio, fitness center and student lounge.

The Anderton House (C. 1769)
Provides home-like surroundings for tenth through twelfth graders, while Latané Hall houses eighth through twelfth graders. Latané also includes the infirmary, and reception and conference rooms.

Athletic facilities
In the afternoons, our campus is alive with the sound of whistles and the spirit of team work. Our facilities include a playing field for hockey, soccer and lacrosse. We also have three hard-surface tennis courts (1998) and an outdoor swimming pool. The Ball Memorial Gymnasium (1966) houses basketball and volleyball courts as well as drama facilities.

Faculty Housing
The Head of School lives in nearby Chinn House, while other faculty and their families live in houses and apartments around the campus. These include Pettigrew Hall, Phillips House, Mitchell House, Dunn House, Lewis House, Crallé House, Gawen House, Hoskins House, Gaines House and the Latané-Ferry House.

Administrative buildings
The campus' focal point, St. Margaret's Hall (1820), contains administrative offices, the chapel, classrooms and the music and art studios.

Brockenbrough House
Built in 1763, this historic building is an outstanding example of Colonial Tidewater architecture. It contains offices for admission, development and marketing.

Viola Woolfolk Learning Center
This building (1991) houses the library, study hall, classrooms, and the faculty/student center.

Community/Technology Center
This is the campus' newest building. Erected in 1999, it is home to a dining room with an expansive view of the river, plus modern chemistry, physics, biology and computer labs.
