THE CAMPUS MASTER PLAN
Strengthening Our Foundations

Graduation
St. Margaret's School prepares young women for college, but that's not all.

In our small, supportive community, we prepare young women for life.

Our students graduate with an understanding of what it means to be a responsible citizen.

They know how to find information and use it to make good decisions.

They appreciate the benefits of both physical and spiritual exercise.

And perhaps most important, girls leave St. Margaret's with the confidence to be who they really are.

Over the last two years, St. Margaret's has engaged the entire school community in developing comprehensive strategic and campus master plans. More than 100 parents, alumnae, faculty, staff, and friends shared their hopes and dreams with us.

The resulting plans affirm our mission. They also paint a vision of what St. Margaret's can-and must-become to remain the strong and healthy institution that it is today.

Our vision is a campus where students will find our homelike community reflected in their living environment.

It's a campus where dormitories fully support our residential program, just as teachers, learning labs, and advisors support our academic program.

Latané Hall Improvements

When it was built in 1955, this three-story, 44-room cinderblock structure was a model of student accommodation and "fireproof" design. Upgraded systems and decor will make Latané a more comfortable home for the 77 students it houses today.

Estimated Total Cost: $850,000

With your help, we will:

Reduce humidity and improve air quality by installing a new heating/ventilating/air conditioning system

Make bathrooms more modern and user-friendly with the addition of vanity countertops and higher showerheads

Provide added power for computers and other personal electronics by increasing electrical supply to student rooms

Create a more welcoming feeling with brighter lighting and a spacious, updated lobby area that emphasizes river views

Brighten the building's public face with exterior paint and landscaping improvements

St. Margaret's Hall Cooling System

At some point in her school career, every student takes classes on the top floor of St. Margaret's Hall. They're the only classrooms on campus that aren't air-conditioned-and it's hot up there in the spring and fall. Controlling air temperature will create an environment that's more conducive to learning.

Estimated Total Cost: $150,000

With your help, we will:

Reduce humidity and improve air quality by installing a new heating/ventilating/air conditioning system
