Community Service

"Parents can be proud to see that their daughters have made volunteerism one of their core values. All of us want to see our counties, cities and neighborhoods remain strong and healthy. These girls are the community leaders of tomorrow."
--Mollie Conklin, community service program coordinator

SMS cleaning up river Learning how to be a contributing member of a community is one of the most important aspects of the "education for life" that SMS provides. St. Margaret's community service program takes the lessons learned on campus and expands them into the world beyond Water Lane. Each student is required to spend at least 12 hours each year in approved service activities - and many students go way beyond that. Students also initiate service projects of their own, recognizing needs in nearby towns and counties and doing what they can to help.
