Kayla Soltis realizes that the transition from Paris to Tappahannock is sure to be a shocking one, but she is nevertheless thrilled to join the SMS faculty after returning from a year abroad in Paris with New York University. There, she completed her Master's Degree in French Language and Civilization, taught English in a high school in the suburbs of Paris, and dabbled in Residence Life as an R.A. for NYU's summer programs in the City of Lights. This stay abroad marks her second year spent in France; she studied in Angers while pursuing her undergraduate degree at Allegheny College. She graduated cum laude in 2009 with her B.A. in Art History and French and a minor in Political Science.
She is a self-described "nerd," who loves to talk about France, languages, and Art, or any of her other passions which include reading, running, baking, any Pittsburgh Sports team, and her dog, Boo.
She will be teaching French and Math Labs as well as working as a dorm parent in Latane Hall.
