Mrs. Carney earned a minor in Education and student-taught on the high school and elementary levels before joining the faculty of Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, PA. There, she taught Biology and Physical Science, and coached field hockey, lacrosse and swimming.

A two-time Academic All-American at Immaculata, Mrs. Carney also won league all-star and team MVP honors multiple times. At SMS, she is the Head varsity field hockey, varsity basketball, and varsity lacrosse coach. She is a dorm parent and lives on campus with her husband Greg.
