Pat Thrift started her licensed nursing career in Richmond, Virginia. Upon graduation she worked for Retreat Hospital as a staff nurse, then moved back to the Northern Neck in the 70's and started working in long term care. She then went on to teaching nurses aide programs at the Vocational Tech Center and RCC in the 80's, later decided to return to more hands on care and switched to Riverside Health Systems in the 90's. At Riverside she worked for their internal medicine group as a office nurse.
Pat joined St. Margaret's in 2001 as a school nurse and dorm parent. Now she lives off campus in Tappahannock with her husband Gregory and their cat George. They have two lovely daughters, two wonderful son-in-laws and 5 beautiful grandchildren.
"For me as a health care provider for St. Margaret's", Ms. Thrift says, "it is all about health promotion and wellness. Keeping our girls healthy and safe is priority one".
