Our Australian "gap" students from St. Margaret's School in Berwick invited us to celebrate Australia Day by going to the beach. They also offered samples of Vegemite. ~~~~~~ 
Girls from Taiwan showed their national pride with a colorful display. They also acted out a story about Chinese New Year. ~~~~~~  At the Thailand display, students could make flower and incense-carrying boats, just as Thais do during the Boat Festival. These two students also demonstrated a traditional dance. ~~~~~~  Chocolate covered bananas are a favorite treat at the Japanese summer festival. The Japan group also presented a dance to honor ancestors. ~~~~~~ |

The Caribbean group (British Virgin Islands & Jamaica) celebrated Carnivale with festive authentic costumes. ~~~~~~  Mardi Gras was the French group's theme, complete with freshly baked King Cake. ~~~~~~  Korean students performed a precise and beautiful fan dance, which included this depiction of a flower. They also offered a Korean shop with specialty merchandise from home. ~~~~~~  Saturday market was the Latin American theme. Our Mexican student also presented a fast-paced hat dance. ~~~~~~ |
