Students on the educational tour of Greece and Italy enjoyed some genuine gelato at an outdoor cafe. ~~~~~~
The King himself performed at the "Southern Culture" course's grand finale, a down-home dinner for the entire school. ~~~~~~ ![]() Juniors toured 7 Virginia college campuses as part of the "Next Steps" class. This is Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Students also worked on college essays and took an SAT prep class. ~~~~~~ Girls learned about the math (to name one subject) behind the magic at Disney World through the Youth Education Series. They had free time to see sights like these, too. ~~~~~~ |
Preschoolers and kindergarteners at Aylett Country Day School were fascinated by this puppet show, which was put on by the "Fun and Games" class. ~~~~~~ ![]() The "It's A Mystery To Me" class toured Francis Lightfoot Lee's Menokin in nearby Warsaw with SMS alumna Sarah Dillard Pope '86, the Menokin Foundation's executive director. ~~~~~~ ![]() "Southern Culture" students learned Virginia history firsthand by visiting neighboring King and Queen Courthouse, the Blue Ridge Mountains and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello ~~~~~~ ![]() Painting, refinishing and sewing are just a few of the skills that students acquired in the "Shabby Chic" class by refurbishing a school office. ~~~~~~ |
