Alumnae Weekend '04
Welcome Back 4's and 9's!

Welcome Back!

Alumnae Association President Caroline Silek Noble ’92 and Reunion Co-Chairs Susie Robinson Mote ’60 and Dougie Morris Lawton ’58 hope you’ll join them for one of St. Margaret’s newest traditions: a summer reunion that takes advantage of our fabulous waterfront location. While this year’s reunion honors classes ending in 4 & 9, all SMS alumnae are welcome.

Housing and Meals

Enjoy the convenience and nostalgia of staying on campus. Latané Hall is air-conditioned, but has neither elevators nor private bathrooms. Towels, sheets, and blankets will be provided; bring your own pillow. Note that no smoking is allowed in any SMS building. The dorm will open on Friday, June 4 at 4 p.m. and will close at noon on Sunday, June 6. Please leave valuables at home. Outer doors to the dorm are locked from midnight to 7 a.m., but individual rooms will not be locked during the weekend.

Activities

Alumnae Mini-Classes: Take a trip down memory lane and return to the classroom. No homework is required and no tests will be given!

Boating: Paddle the Rappahannock in a canoe, cruise on the SMS pontoon boat, or try one of the school’s kayaks. Staff will help you launch on Saturday afternoon.

Swimming and tennis are available on campus. Golf can be arranged at nearby courses.

Husbands and Significant Others Welcome

Your partner is welcome and encouraged to attend all reunion activities. Couples will be housed together.

Roommate Preference

If your husband/significant other or friend is rooming with you, list this person as your first choice. If you plan to room with a classmate, be sure she is coming before you list her name as a roommate preference.

For Those Bringing Children

Child care will be provided free of charge from 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during Saturday’s luncheon. If you would like child care Saturday evening from 6 to 10 p.m. during the beach party, contact Carol Smith at 804-443-3357 or csmith@sms.org by May 17. Please be sure to indicate the number and ages of the children for whom you wish care. There is a charge for this service.

Children ages six and younger will be placed in a dorm room with their parents at no charge. Parents will be responsible for bringing their own cribs, cots, carriages, strollers, etc. Older children will be assigned rooms adjacent to parents at the same rate as adults.

Reunion Fees

Registration deadline is May 26, 2004. Please plan ahead: ticketed events (Saturday luncheon, Saturday night beach party, and Sunday brunch) will cost an additional $10 at the door. There is no charge, however, for attending many of the weekend’s events.
