SMS Announces Honor, Merit Roll Students
Tappahannock, VA (December 10, 2000) - Hard work and good study habits have paid off for nearly 60 students at St. Margaret's School, who have earned spots on the school's honor and merit rolls for the first trimester of the 2000-2001 academic year.
"Ours is a challenging college preparatory curriculum," said Dean of Faculty Cathy Sgroi. "Their academic success here will help these girls as they apply to competitive universities and strive for success in their chosen fields."
Students named to the honor roll have an average of 90 or above with no grade below a B. Local students include senior Claire Stephenson of Tappahannock; juniors Nikki Clark of Lively and Kelly Proctor of Urbanna; sophomores Claire Hopkins of Oak Grove, Lindsay Neist of Howertons and Jacky Sydnor of Tappahannock; freshmen Lauren Crockett of Irvington, Blair Fisher of Lottsburg and Jessica Hinson of Warsaw.
Boarding students named to the honor roll include seniors Carol Combs and Elizabeth LeBlanc; junior Virginia King; sophomores Breese Anderson, Justty Cervera, Emily Chang, Mariana Heredia, Hannah Lee and Evita Moody; freshmen Beth Brinkley, Lisa Ou, Skye Rhodes-Robinson, Miki Saito, Cariad Shepherd and Patricia Van Pelt; and eighth-grader Luanda Fiscella.
Students earning merit roll recognition have an average of 87 or above with no grade below a C. Local students include seniors Britton Faulkner of White Stone, Sarah Muller of Tappahannock, Sara Newman of White Stone and Cathy Ryan of Tappahannock; juniors Taylor Ellis of Dunnsville, Emily Fisher of Lottsburg, Olivia Longest of Tappahannock, Lisa Magness of Urbanna, Heather Porter of Walkerton, Ruth Redfearn of Kinsale, Rachelle Slotnick of Tappahannock and Sarah Taliaferro of Center Cross; freshmen Katie Carpenter of Irvington and Maggie Ransone of Kilmarnock, and eighth-grader Lea DeBauche of Kilmarnock.
Boarding students earning merit roll recognition include seniors Lucy Bean, Hee-Ran Kim, Alison Wasserman and Briana Wright; juniors Sadaf Awan, Anne Czechanski, Tiff Greer, Carter Holloway, Kat Price and Maryama Tagoe; sophomores Maggie Lu, Emily Nein and Abby Zoukis; freshmen Jennifer Lee and Robyn Ridderhof; and eighth-graders Rachel Chang, Jennifer Clark, Phoebe Gilbert and Caroline Johnston.
