"Potato Drop" Photo Caption



Tappahannock, VA (May 15, 2001) - More than 50 local volunteers joined 100 students from St. Margaret's and Christchurch schools to bag 22 tons of sweet potatoes for distribution to area food banks on Saturday, May 12. Participants included representatives of Bethany Methodist Church in Gloucester, Boy Scout Troop 304 of Tappahannock, Grace Episcopal Church in Kilmarnock, Rappahannock High School, Tappahannock Memorial United Methodist Church, Upper Essex Baptist Church and Warsaw United Methodist Church. The event was coordinated by St. Margaret's and sponsored by the Society of St. Andrew, an ecumenical hunger ministry.
