Tappahannock (September 24, 2001) - Three local institutions have combined forces to make it possible for area residents to attend the often sold-out Richmond Forum. Beginning this fall, the Bank of Essex, Rappahannock Community College Educational Foundation and St. Margaret's School are sponsoring ticket and transportation packages for the Forum's full 2001-2002 season.

Tickets and transportation for local residents are available through the joint sponsorship of the Bank of Essex, Rappahannock Community College Educational Foundation, and St. Margaret's School.
"We thought this would be a great way to bring folks together from across the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula to enjoy each other's company and some very entertaining, thought-provoking presentations," said Suzanne Rennolds, Vice President of the Bank of Essex. Representatives of the three institutions will take turns escorting the group to the Forum.
This season's schedule of programs includes:
November 11, 2001 - Award-winning actor Hal Holbrook in Mark Twain Tonight! As Twain, Holbrook uses funny stories and dry wit to comment on the events of our day.
January 19, 2002 - Rabbi Marc Gellman and Monsignor Thomas Hartman, co-authors of How Do You Spell God?, will discuss how many faiths answer universal questions about life, death and the Almighty.
February 16, 2002 - Music industry icon Dick Clark presents his perspective on popular music and American culture, featuring recordings and video clips. A Forum premiere.
March 16, 2002 - Pulitzer Prize-winning historians Doris Kearns Goodwin and David McCullough will discuss the art of researching and writing presidential biography. Goodwin has written on Johnson, Kennedy and Roosevelt, and McCullough is the author of the best-selling John Adams.
April 13, 2002 - Two former Secretaries of State, the Honorable Madeleine K. Albright and the Honorable James A. Baker III, will discuss the evolution of US foreign policy and the challenges we face in this new century.
For just $45, attendees receive a Forum ticket and round-trip transportation from Tappahannock to Richmond. Once on board the luxury mini-coach, they won't have to worry about finding a parking place or driving home late at night. The bus will drop ticket-holders off in the popular Shockoe Slip area for dinner on their own, take them to the Landmark Theater for the Forum program, then on to Tappahannock at the evening's conclusion. The bus leaves St. Margaret's School at 4:15 p.m. and returns at approximately 11:30 p.m.
