Tickets Remain for Dick Clark Program

Tappahannock (February 4, 2002) - Thanks to a local partnership, Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula residents can still get seats for music celebrity Dick Clark's presentation at the Richmond Forum on Saturday, February 16, 2002. The Bank of Essex, Rappahannock Community College Educational Foundation and St. Margaret's School are sponsoring ticket and transportation packages from Tappahannock for the Forum's 2001-2002 season.

The relationship between American popular music and culture will be the focus of Clark's program, a Richmond Forum premiere. The seemingly ageless host of "American Bandstand" and "Rockin' New Year's Eve" uses audio and video clips to tell the story of the musicians and performances that have influenced our lives during the last half of the twentieth century.

A Forum ticket and round-trip transportation from Tappahannock to Richmond is just $45. The chartered coach will drop ticket-holders off in the popular Shockoe Slip area for dinner on their own, take them to the Landmark Theater for the Forum program, then on to Tappahannock at the evening's conclusion. The bus leaves St. Margaret's School at 4:15 p.m. and returns at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Tickets also are available for these upcoming Forum presentations:

March 16, 2002 - Pulitzer Prize-winning historians Doris Kearns Goodwin and David McCullough will discuss the art of researching and writing presidential biography.

April 13, 2002 - Two former Secretaries of State, the Honorable Madeleine K. Albright and the Honorable James A. Baker III, will discuss the evolution of US foreign policy and the challenges we face in this new century.

Reservations are accepted with payment on a first-come, first-served basis. Make checks out to the Bank of Essex. For more information or to reserve a ticket, contact St. Margaret's School at (804) 443-3357.
