Parenting Expert to Speak at SMS
Tappahannock (March 11, 2002) - Thanks to a program sponsored by St. Margaret's School, local parents have the opportunity to come together and learn how they can bring out the best in our community's children. That's because SMS is bringing nationally syndicated writer and family psychologist John Rosemond to Tappahannock on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Rosemond is perhaps best known for his column, which appears in the Sunday Richmond Times-Dispatch and hundreds of other newspapers. His brand of common sense, "Affirmative Parenting" is detailed in nine books, including Teen Proofing, Ending the Homework Hassle and Raising a Nonviolent Child. One of America's most in-demand public speakers, Mr. Rosemond sprinkles his talks liberally with humor while providing factual information and practical advice.
An attendee at one of his recent presentations said: "The affirmative head nods and frequent bursts of laughter made it clear he was connecting with people. While someone of national repute, he is extremely genuine, warm and personable, and spent considerable time outside of presentations listening and talking with individuals."
Mr. Rosemond's talk will focus on how parents can help their children reach their potential. The 90-minute program will take place in the St. Margaret's School Chapel on the lower level of St. Margaret's Hall. Admission is $10 per person at the door.
