"Leadership opportunities are one of the most important benefits of attending a girls' school," said Head of School Margaret R. Broad. "We provide our students with strong female role models, leadership courses that speak to the needs of young women and an environment that supports their success."

Students and faculty selected four area girls for leadership positions: Blair Fisher of Lottsburg, junior class president; Claire Hopkins of Oak Grove, Day Student Council chair and the chapel's student lay eucharistic minister; Lindsay Neist of Howertons, senior class president; and Michelle Sylva of Tappahannock, Honor Council member.

In addition, Madison Barkley of Hague will join Hopkins and Neist in the school's peer leader program. They will participate in the Women's Leadership class and mentor eighth- and ninth-graders throughout the school year.
