"It's becoming a local tradition," said race director Liz Musselman. "Whether you walk or run, it's healthy fun for the whole family." The 5K (3.1 mile) event takes place on Saturday, October 5 at 8:00 a.m. Race-day registration costs $15 and will be held from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. in front of St. Margaret's Hall on Water Lane. The flat, fast course begins and ends at St. Margaret's School and takes participants through Tappahannock's historic district.
The event also will include a "Water Lane Dash" for the younger set. All participants and spectators then are invited to stay for a crafts festival featuring unique gifts, clothing and home décor. The festival takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in front of Brockenbrough House on the St. Margaret's School campus.
Registration forms are available on the school's web site, www.sms.org, or click here to download the registration form (Acrobat PDF), or by calling Liz Musselman at (804) 443-3357. The Rappahannock River Run and Crafts Festival is a community outreach and fundraising project of the St. Margaret's School Alumnae Association.
