The Fourth Annual Rappahannock River Run and Crafts Festival takes place on Friday, October 4, and Saturday, October 5, on the school's Water Lane campus.
More than 25 area merchants and organizations are helping to sponsor the 5-kilometer (3.1 mile) walk/run, which draws participants from far and wide, said SMS Alumnae Director Liz Musselman. Sponsors include: Atkins Petroleum and Propane, Bank of Essex, Bank of Lancaster, Chesapeake Academy, Crowther Heating and Air Conditioning, Design Printing, Digital Wisdom, Dr. William Ryan Optometrist, Ficklin Bryant, Lowery's Restaurant, Panoply Computers, Reedville Marina, Rivahside Café, Riverland Insurers, Riverside Tappahannock Hospital, Roma Ristorante Italiano, Sheetz Incorporated, Southside Bank, Store-Tel Storage, T-Town Tack, Tappahannock Pharmacy, Tea House Gourmet Chinese Restaurant, Wal-Mart, Woodland Academy and WRAR. They and other local businesses stand to benefit as well, because approximately 150 St. Margaret's parents will be arriving in town on Friday for Fall Family Weekend. Many will stay in hotels in Tappahannock, Irvington, Kilmarnock, and Warsaw, and patronize area businesses - including those of the sponsors - while they are visiting their daughters. The weekend's schedule of events includes: The Rappahannock River Run and Crafts Festival is a community outreach and fundraising project of the St. Margaret's School Alumnae Association. |
