Beginning this month, the Bank of Essex and St. Margaret's School are sponsoring ticket and transportation packages for the Forum's full 2002-2003 season. The schedule of programs includes: November 16, 2002 - Acclaimed documentary filmmaker Ken Burns will discuss his most recent work, The Lewis and Clark Expedition and The Opening of the American West. His presentation comes on the eve of the National Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Commemoration, which begins in Virginia in 2003. Daniel P. Jordan, president of Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, will moderate the presentation. January 18, 2003 - Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Time's Person of the Year for 2001, will discuss his personal vision for our nation's future. His presentation will be moderated by Virginia Lieutenant Governor Timothy M. Kaine, former mayor of Richmond. February 15, 2003 - Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto and Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan will discuss a range of topics that includes the status of women in the Middle East, US involvement in the region and prospects for peace in the currently volatile political climate. Journalist Gwen Ifill, managing editor of Washington Week in Review, will moderate their presentation. March 15, 2003 - Former FBI Director Louis Freeh will speak on intelligence and foreign policy in the 21st century. April 12, 2003 - US Senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee will share his insights on such current topics as the future of the national budget and the challenges of national security. For just $45, attendees receive a Forum ticket and escorted round-trip transportation from Tappahannock to Richmond. Once on board the luxury mini-coach, they won't have to worry about finding a parking place or driving home late at night. The bus will drop ticket-holders off in the popular Shockoe Slip area for dinner on their own, take them to the Landmark Theater for the Forum program, then back to Tappahannock at the evening's conclusion. The bus leaves St. Margaret's School at 4:15 p.m. and returns at approximately 11:30 p.m. Free parking is available on the school campus.
