Two members of the Class of 2006 and a current senior at St. Margaret’s School have earned recognition from The College Board for their outstanding performance on Advanced Placement examinations.
Sydney Harris, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ira Harris of Charlottesville and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Harris of Tappahannock, was named AP Scholar With Distinction for achieving an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more exams. Sydney, a member of the St. Margaret’s class of 2006, is now a freshman at Brown University.
Michelle Burch, daughter of Mr. Michael Burch and Dr. Sheri Hummel of Burgess, and Lauren Guiffré, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Guiffré of Fairfax Station, were named AP Scholars for achieving grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. Michelle is a member of St. Margaret’s class of 2007, and Lauren is currently a freshman at Virginia Commonwealth University.
St. Margaret’s offers AP courses in all core subject areas, providing strong students the opportunity to broaden their intellectual horizons, demonstrate their commitment to academic excellence and gain an edge in college preparation by undertaking rigorous high school work. Students who do well on AP exams also can earn credit or advanced standing at most American colleges and universities.
