SMS Cross Country Team Fares Well at W&M Invitational

The fall athletic season is well underway at St. Margaret’s School and the SMS cross country Scotties are showing great promise. Junior Caroline Casey of Richmond led the Scotties as she finished 10th overall in a field of 99 runners in the Women’s “C” category at the William and Mary Invitational on Saturday, September 22. Her time of 21:15 on the difficult 5k course earned her a medal.

The invitational was attended by more than 80 schools from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia. With 235 points, St. Margaret’s finished ahead of Prince George H.S., St. Gertrude’s, and Arcadia H.S. SMS will host the first meet on the new SMS cross country course on Wednesday, October 10.
