FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tappahannock (April 6, 2009) St. Margaret’s junior Amelia Chen of Taipei, Taiwan, was recently selected as a finalist in the Fourth Annual Lucerne The Art of Dairy Art Contest, “Taste of Moo-sic.” As a finalist, Chen replicated a design she submitted on paper onto a 5’x 8’ life-size cow sculpture. Her design is based on Vincent van Gogh’s famous painting, “The Starry Night.” The artwork had to blend some aspect of music with at least one dairy product.

The cow was delivered to St. Margaret’s in February along with a check for $250 to purchase art supplies. Chen had to complete her work by April 1. A panel of judges will award one grand prize, one first prize and three honorable achievement awards to five of the 30 nationwide finalists. The remaining 25 finalists will receive a $500 Savings Bond. For more information about the contest visit www.artofdairy-artcontest.com
