School Year Commences at St. Margaret's School

September 11, 1998, TAPPAHANNOCK, Va.-St. Margaret's 77th year has opened with 150 students from 17 states, 12 countries and the six Virginia counties surrounding the campus.

Community building was the focus of the two-day orientation program, which included a day on the river and participation in a ropes course. The orientation program was planned in part by the student leaders. The river day included lectures from Bill Portlock of the Teachers on the Bay program. A three-hour excursion on the Captain Thomas was a highlight of the orientation.
