St. Margaret's To Host Fall Carnival
St. Margaret's front campus and new school sign, autumn 1999.
On Saturday, November 13, St. Margaret's School will host its annual fall carnival on the School's river lawn. Featuring a moonwalk and sumo wrestling ring, the carnival will run from 1-4 p.m.; other activities will include children's games, face painting, a bake sale, food booths, and more.
Each SMS class, club, activities group and the Student Government Association will sponsor a booth. Christchurch, Aylett, Woodland, Ware and Chesapeake Academy have been invited. SMS faculty musicians, George McDowell (history) and Rick Kahler (physics; network administration), will jam through an impressive repertoire of popular acoustic songs to liven the scene.
Ginny Moncure, a senior day student from Tappahannock, organized this year's carnival with help from SMS Dean of Students, Roxanne Zazzaro. "Each class is going to cook delicious food and have an exciting activities booth. After you get your fill of food, fun games and activities, have a go at sumo wrestling!," Moncure says. "It's going to be a lot of fun."
